Prelude: Strategic and leadership challenges facing the Hewlett-Packard spin-out:

While understanding the magnitude of this spin-out, I took the liberty of analyzing the scenario by thoroughly going through the epoch of HP since its genesis. This memo presents facts, observations, calculations, deductions and my personal conclusion about the spin-off.

Key factors that have made HP successful over the last 80 years:

1) Relentless perseverance for Innovation: Both of the founders did not have an idea for what their product would be before starting their business. They tried making a few interesting products until they developed a piece of military hardware that caused their business to start growing.
