The first step of my tutorial will be a material checklist. We will go over all the hardware and software needed for this job. The next step would be the action of removing the old hard drive. After that we will put the new hard drive in the machine. It is very important to make sure all cables are plugged in securely. Once we've made sure the HDD is mounted properly and check to make sure there isn't any wires dangling into the CPU fan it's time to put the side back onto the tower. After we have the tower put back together the next step is to plug all the external hardware and power cable back in.

Now that we've got all the pieces in place it's time to install the operating system. There are a few ways to install the OS. In this case we have a Windows 7 boot disc. This was created using an 8GB San Disk flash drive. This needs to be plugged into a USB port before we boot the PC up. Once the device has been turned on we will see what is called the POST screen. This typically will be a black screen with the manufacturers name in the middle of the screen. During the post screen we will see a few prompts at the bottom of the screen. We will want to hit F2 as soon as it pops up. F2 is how we are going to tell the BIOS that it needs to use the USB device to boot/load the information on the flash drive. This will now load Windows onto the hard drive. For this occasion we are using a brand new hard drive. These are already formatted to FAT32 so the OS can be installed. In some cases you have to actually format the drives partition before it will accept the OS. Now is the boring part of just waiting on the installation. This all depends on the specs on the PC of how long it will take. We are using a Dell with a i5 Intel processor so it won't take more than 30 minutes. I will take this time to tell a few jokes. Not really! I plan on cutting the video and queuing it up after the OS is installed.

After a nice break we are now back and looking at the setup part of  the...
