According to Wikipedia, data warehousing is, “a data warehouse is a database used for reporting and data analysis. It is a central repository of data which is created by integrating data from multiple disparate sources

Since the hotel chain has grown to 100 hotels over the world and has been credited for sophisticated information systems used by the chains, technologies such as Data Warehousing and Data Mining should be implemented to continue along its success part.

Data Warehousing is a single, complete and consistent store of data obtained from a variety of different sources made available to end users in what they can understand and use in a business context. It is easy to understand and it creates a central location and permanent storage space for various data sources needed to support Sundials analysis, reporting and other functions in a timely enough manner to make a difference. As such, Sundials will be able to analyze historical patterns, trends of sale and customers that will allow you to make strong and precise business decision and it can be used to predict tends for the future.

Data housing will help the Sundials chain hotels to increase profitability and the cost of computing will greatly be reduced. That is because, one of its most powerful feature is that data from different locations can be combined in one location in the most relevant and efficient manner, which can be used to solve large problems that may arise, perfect for Sundial. It will help you to look at the hotels as a whole rather than as departments. It will improve productivity by using the right data and it will support the strategy of tightening up the grip on fraud loses, reducing the cost of reporting and provide saving in billing.
