Going Back To School

Going back to school getting your degree is not in the question when you are in a gang and you are selling drugs, but anything can be possible.

When I was younger my grandmother had me go live with a family friend, because she was unable to take care of me at the time. So I went to live in East St Louis, Illinois. The first couple of days were okay, but the more I stayed there the more he wanted to get me into selling drugs and to the gang life. So I finally join a gang which is one of the worse experiences in my life, then I started to sell drugs a little at a time. When I found out how much money I could make I started selling more and more. The family friend that I live with started to get mad at me and he put me out, because I stop going through him and went to a different supplier and making a lot of more. I was taking business from him and in return that is why he put me out. So I start to live in a hotel so I could build some money to get my own place to live. At this time I am 13 years old with a fake identification that says I am 19. I meet a couple of guys that I am eventually become friends with, so we decided to build our friendship. We decided to go into business with each other so we can expand our operation and make more money. So we expand our business and start to make a lot of money and so we bought a house with cash. By this time, I have been in and out of jail several times. We kept doing this until I was about 17 then I got a phone call from my grandmother that she wanted me to finish high school and come back and live with her. After I talked to her I decided to move back to Indianapolis, Indiana. When I got there and went to see my grandmother I found out that she had Alzheimer’s. My Grandma was a person that didn’t like to ask for help. She really wanted me to come home and help take care of her. None of her kids would come to help her. I stayed with...
