PRENATAL AND POST-PARTUM WOMEN EXERCISING ACTIVITIES

Before beginning any exercising activities it is imperative that it is upon a physician approval. Some women are not able to perform as much exercise during pregnancy as others due to possible high-risks during the pregnancy. Exercise can also help a mother maintain the post-partum period that can last up to six weeks after the birth of the child or until a mother’s body is completely healed. Several things will also be important for a mother after childbirth such as allowing herself to taking naps, eating healthy, maintaining moderate exercises, and accepting help because these are necessities.

Walking- is an exercise that is healthy for anyone especially a pregnant woman. During pregnancy walking is considered the best exercise for a mother preparing for child birth. Careful and cautions walking is advised because the hormonal changes in a pregnant women can be difficult causing some easy body injury therefore, low-impact activities is recommended. Once a mother delivers her baby entering into post partum walking will help her physical body and her mental adjustments because one of the known causes to post-partum is weigh gain.

Swimming-is an exercise that allows the woman to relax and stretch the muscles during pregnancy. This exercise will reduce swelling in the extremities, it will provide a good cardio for the mother, and it will help her manage different breathing techniques during delivery.

Reading and Talking to the baby is an important activity for the infant because it increases the parents opportunity of knowing that the infant recognizing their voices after birth. This exercise can be relaxing also to the infant and mother because if the mother is rubbing her belly it could help the baby with a possible sense of calming.
