King Bhumibol Adulyadej

King Bhumibol Adulyadej is the ninth king of Thailand. He has done many great things for Thai people. He is a king who exerts his life for Thailand and Thai people. He said he will never give up on Thai people if they do not give up on him. His lifelong journey became one of the most inspired story to Thai people. Music and art are his passion, and he used his passion to teach Thai people. He worked hard to improve Thai people’s life, and his projects did make Thai people’s life better.

First, he was born on December 5, 1927 in the United States of America. At the age of 5 years old, he studied at Mater Dei School. Afterward, he went to study in Switzerland. In 1935, he went to a private school for international students. Later, he became a student in higher education in science departments. On June 9, 1946, King Ananta Mahidol died by a gun, and no one knew what actually happened. The Privy Councilor invited a younger brother Prince Bhumibol Adulyadej to be a new king. He succeeded to the throne as the ninth of the Chakki Dynasty. At that time, he was only 19 years old, so he could not rule yet. The Privy Councilor had chosen a regent to manage the realm until His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was ready. During that time, he went back to study another field. In August, 1946, He returned to Switzerland and attended the University of Lausanne. He chose Political Science instead of engineering because it is important for a king. During his stay in a foreign country, He was engaged to Sirikit Kitiyakara. On July 19, 1949, they had a wedding ceremony in the year 1950, and she became Queen Sirikit Kitiyakara. After the wedding, he went back to Switzerland to heal

from a car accident. He returned to Thailand again in 1951, and he had begun to help Thai people until now.
