1. Introduction

In modern society, consumers could purchase various kinds of electronic devices easily due to development of technology. The requirements of electronic appliances are huge and increased steadily. As a consequence, e-waste has become one of the major crises internationally. This report will illustrate the definition and effects of e-waste and how to manage e-waste in proper approach.

2. Definition

Electronic waste may be defined as throw away computers, office electronic facilities, entertainment devices electronics, old mobile phones, TV, and broken refrigerator . This electronic waste includes a variety of harmful substances, but the part of them can be recycled. (Pinto, 2008).Computer waste not only damages the environment but also effects human health and causes air pollution and water pollution. (Nganji, 2010)

3. Effects of e-waste

As we know, most electronic equipment has metal elements. When the equipment is declared worthless, it produces many hazards, there are two main characteristics: the electronic waste is a hazard; the second characteristic is your garbage contains almost 1000 different toxic substances; these factors also can arouse serious environmental pollution problems. Electronic waste has been defined as a kind of waste in India. The electronics industry has become the fastest growing part of the Indian industry both production and export. Electronic video game is very popular among young people and adults, according to this increase of demanding will lead to e-waste and brings environmental pollution problems. This growing proportion of electronic products consumption and higher scrap page leads to higher electronic waste. This increased of electronic waste imports from other countries will make it more complicated on the management in India. (Satyanarayan, & Satyanarayan, 2013)
