By the looks of it, it seems like the Mayor is the only one benefitting from the city actions. Nothing good is being done here, considering the not so large businesses are not able to pay the city contracts to the Mayor. Since this occurred, the benefits that the organizations are receiving include, city jobs, causing businesses to shut down, and increase in taxes. The mayor is obviously being selfish by putting himself before the citizens. With that being said, Locke would most likely agree that he’s being selfish because the Mayor should have responsibility to his citizens. I think Locke would also say the citizens have a right of choosing a Mayor who is more trustworthy and responsible to his people. It was ethical for the mayor to accept the gifts, because almost anyone would accept a gift without even thinking ahead. I feel like it was wrong because there was no businesses done with them, and that may cause a controversial. On the other hand, the Mayors behavior in accepting the presents out of courtesy in order for him to build some kind of relationship would be considered the greater good, which I think Locke would also agree with.

The college instructor is not showing the students what they deserve, because she simply doesn’t care enough to improve her lectures or assignments. She may also find it simpler if she were to repeat the same course material each semester just so she can focus on her studies. In other words she’s serving herself. By not being able to teach her students new material, she has to consider that they won’t be prepared when entering the work force. I think since the college instructor puts time and effort into her work, her students should reserve the

right to expect the same when receiving the material each semester, which is what Locke, would definitely agree with. I think it’s somewhat ethical for the instructor to repeat the material, considering she has to focus on her studies, and any one with her situation might do the...
