First Local Bank,

I am writing this letter as a reference for Mr. Uriah Ray Riddle, who is seeking a position as a management trainee at your bank. Mr. Riddle deserves serious consideration for this position.

Mr. Riddle was a former student at First Local University, where I teach Business Management. Although he graduated four years ago, I do remember him very well. His academics during his time as a student were exceptional. Mr. Riddle remained in the top five percent of his peer group, consisting of 42 students, throughout his tenure. He shone at applying information learned for future assignments. Mr. Riddle wrote a term paper relating different management strategies to modern theories of psychology that was the best I have seen in my 32 years as a professor. He excelled in financing, statistics and accounting, and handled all tasks and assignments with ease. Mr. Riddles’ intellect would make him a valuable asset to any organization.

Mr. Riddle completed all required tasks with exceptional scores. He would miss class at times and lacked motivation in classroom instruction. I attributed this to his high aptitude, and coursework may have not been as challenging as he liked. In addition, Mr. Riddle did not show up to his mid-term exam, yet had the highest score in the class when he took the make-up exam. I did have some concerns on Mr. Riddle’s dependability.

Mr. Riddle did not excel at working in groups or with people. He often felt the fellow students were not intelligent enough to achieve the results he desired. He was often introvert, and preferred to do activities alone. He was very conservative, and did not focus on trends and fashion, just on his work. He sometimes came off as a bit quirky, but was a proven performer.

I believe that with the proper training and guidance, Mr. Riddle can definitely be a solid performer and has definite potential to serve in this position.

Very Respectfully,

Professor...
