Module Content: The following topics will be covered in this module: * History of computers, classifications of computers. * Concepts: stored program model, number systems, character codes, Boolean algebra, memory and logic. * Hardware components: input/output devices, processor, memory devices, mass storage devices. * System software: operating systems, filing systems, schedulers. * Programming languages: machine and assembly languages, high level languages, domain specific languages. * Networks: topologies, protocols, OSI reference model. * Internet: WWW, email, domain name, uniform resource identifier, protocols.  |   |
