1. My most significant “aha” moment occurred during the 4 Lenses exercise. I realized that I went from an extreme Orange temperament to a very Gold and Green temperament. This can be attributed over a span of time, from Airman to NCO. As my responsibilities changed, my outlook shifted as well.

2. I’ve learned to take a closer look at how I interact with others, based on temperament. If I am in a pretty green/gold mood one day, I need to rethink how I interact with others first before diving straight into a work task with a primarily blue or an orange person. Either might want small talk first, or tactful approach to a challenge before getting tasked.

3. I’d like to think a bit before leaping into action with others, because our differences in general temperament can directly impact things at work if a tactful approach isn’t taken prior to interaction on work related tasks.

4. If I could change one thing, it would be to lessen how quickly I switch to an Authoritarian style to get things done when they are not meeting my time table or expectations. If I see people “slacking,” I tend to kick things into high gear a little too soon where work relations might suffer.

5. The most frustrating part of last week was seeing fellow flight leaders not accounting for their people properly, at first telling me they were all accounted for only to find a straggler running into class from the parking lot.

6. For our class, I contributed to the learning process by starting a bi-weekly group dissection of the case study. At first it involved just our flight, by the second we had members from 2 flights. By the third session we had members from three flights, with different members all contributing in the “Z” process of isolating ideas within the case study.
