Differences in Cultural

In today’s organizational world, leaders are diversifying their organizations by interacting with different nation’s boards, due to importing and exporting goods, international trading is a good way to start an international and intercultural communication, but in order to have this typed of relationship there has to be a certain high level of trust between both leaders and their employees. In this research paper, I will compare and contrast the United States and Japan cultural by using the Hofstede’s value dimensions in order to give my reader an idea about how two countries can be so different and similar, but can still respect and interact with each other for a common good.

The first dimension that I plan to contrast and compare is power distance. According to Hofstede’s (2010) comparing and contrasting chart power distance, deals with the fact that all individuals in societies are not equal-it expresses the attitude of the cultural towards these inequalities amongst us 54 in the power distance dimension, so this means that Japan is at the dividing line structure. In their country, this means that the workers are mostly likely to listen and take orders from their superiors, or supervisors, without questioning their actions and decisions. However, the United States has a low score of 40 in the power distance dimension, so this means that the United States believes in equal opportunity. This also means that the United States value their employees and followers’ opinions just as much as their leaders and superiors.
