An Analysis of D2L Modules & Basecamp Project Management Software

Throughout this Module we have analyzed in detail the various phases in the project lifecycle and for this particular session long project we’re tasked with synchronizing the information we’ve learned so far in the application of real-world software that is used to develop learning management systems. The overall objective for this course will be to create an implementation plan for a new TUI learning management system, and for the students it means comparing and contrasting the features of what their software delivers with respect to what Desire2Learn delivers. However, since the last Module we are now armed with an even deeper understanding of the project phases, such as the Concept Phase, Planning Phase, Development Phase, Implementation Phase and the Closeout Phase from the work we completed in the Case Assignment and using this information we can press forward using a logical sequence as we prepare our plan. The first step of this assignment involves confirming the software we are going to use throughout the rest of the course. Once that has been identified we’re tasked with reviewing the Learning Environment, Learning Repository and Analytics modules of D2L, which will be implemented by TUI itself.
