Proposal of American Co-Culture is due Monday, October 6. (You may not change your paper topic after October 6.)

American Co-Culture final paper is due Monday, October 27.

To understand other cultures, you must first understand your own culture. For this assignment, you will (1) research an American co-culture (2) write a brief proposal (3) write research paper about the co-culture. Your paper must have an argument and you must use sources to defend your argument.

Objectives:

Students will demonstrate the ability to

• Locate source material relevant to intracultural issues using online and database search logic.

• Evaluate, analyze, and synthesize others’ ideas so as to develop and support an original argument using course content as an analytical framework for writing.

• Identify and incorporate intercultural research sources.

• Paraphrase, summarize, and quote source material with accuracy and sophistication

• Provide correct attribution (in-text and reference page) for a variety of source materials (scholarly, popular, on-ground, and online) using APA citation format
