Objective

The main objective of creating this Expense Application was to computerize the expense tracking of sales force that will help the management to save time and make better decisions.

Deliverables

In addition to making the expense tracking process paperless, other requirements or main purpose of the new application were as follows:

• Find out the mileage overage amount and applicable charges for each sales representative

• Display information on the actual mileage, overage, overage charge, and total expense and automatically adjusting the overage fee with the gas expense

• Notification for any mileage readings (at the end of the week) that are greater than 70,000 miles

• Summary of all expenses categorized by division of employees

• Total expenses displayed by sales position of employees

• Total expenses for the meals and gas expense categories by division and position of employees

• Identify which sales representative(s) did not submit an expense claim form.

• Identify which division had the lowest expenses for the week.

• Identify which S1 sales representative(s) submitted hotel expenses this past week.

• Identify which individuals went over their mileage limits.

• Examine the expenses incurred by each employee within each division.

• Produce a chart to compare the gas, hotel, and meal expenses for each division.

Results / Report

In order to find an answer for all the requirements/needs, an EGPC Excel Application is created. It’s an excel workbook with eight different worksheets. This application is designed in such a way that anybody can use this application no matter what’s their IT knowledge is, as long as they understand the ‘data’ they are manipulating. Understanding the ‘Data’ is the key for the successful use of any application.
