How might cultural, political, or geo-economics challenges affect a global company’s use of the Internet? Give several examples.

Technological advances with the Internet have boosted sales by use of e-commerce. Companies can reach customers around the globe taking their market beyond domestic sales. To create a positive portfolio, companies participating as a global company need to balance many aspects and overcome challenges. Political challenges can be expected in regulation and control from once country to another. Each country can be expected to have different laws from each other, which can often cause confusion for a company with little experience working with these types of issues. Cultural challenges can come in the form of language barriers, religious beliefs, customs and social attitudes, or difference of views in opinions. Finally, geo-economics challenges may be items such as how far the destination is, time differences, climate, communication capabilities, cost of living and fees.

Will the increasing use of the Internet by firms with global business operations change their move toward a transnational business strategy? Explain.

Using the Internet for global business seems to be the goals of every large company now days, so yes, I believe they will move towards a transnational business strategy. As the companies become larger and they extend their products global reach with popularity, they will have to adopt a transnational business plan in order to survive.

What has been the impact of information technologies on the work relationships, activities, and resources of managers?

Managers are more connected with their projects and tasks they are responsible now than they have ever been.
