Water pollution has been around for hundreds of years and is one of our nation’s largest problems. Many different sources cause the pollution of water such as, businesses and homes. The important fact to remember is what we may add to our environment has a chance of entering into our bodies and making us very ill.

A type of water pollution is toxic Substance which is a chemical pollutant that is not a naturally occurring substance in aquatic ecosystems. The most common causes are herbicides, pesticides and industrial compounds. Organic Substance which when too much manure or sewage enters the water. Thermal Pollution which happens when industries or power plants use water to cool of high temperature products and then the oxygen levels decrease. The final one is Ecological Pollution which happens when chemical pollution, organic pollution or thermal pollution are caused by nature instead of human activity. An example of ecological pollution is when an animal drowns in the water then many organic substances enter into that specific area and are then carried on to other places.

A specific source of water pollution is through the home activities. Sewage produced from the household and the runoff of septic tanks entering any water that is close to the homes.
