Synopsis

The idea of a Clif bar emerged when the company’s founder, Gary Erickson, went on a 175 mile bike ride and couldn’t force himself to eat the last energy bar that he had brought along for nutrition. Erickson became committed to making the energy bar that tasted good. The Clif Bar was introduced in 1992 as a tastier alternative to the current energy bars on the market.
