Introduction

Post 2015 will see the foundations laid for future global cooperation on some of the most pressing issues facing people and planet-persistent poverty, inequality , sustainability and climate change.Key decisions will determine how government structure their economies , where they prioritise investment and where they put their political energy. Millennium Development goal(MDG’s) are the eight international development goals that were established following the millennium summit of the United Nations in 2000, following the adoption of the United Nations Millennium Declaration. All 189 United Nations member states at the time (there are 193 currently), and at least 23 international organizations, committed to help achieve the following Millennium Development Goals by 2015:

1. To eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

2. To achieve universal primary education

3. To promote gender equality

4. To reduce child mortality

5. To improve maternal health

6. To combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases

7. To ensure environmental sustainability

8. To develop a global partnership for development

About the Swiss Confederation

Switzerland is one of the actively participating nation in the MDG program, lending its resources , ideas and even financial help. Since joining United nations in 2002 it has had a bigger stake in helping the UN achieving its target.

Itself it was ranked first in the Environmental index performance among 132 nations(The report is sanctioned by United Nations). Switzerland has a stable, prosperous and high-tech economy and enjoys great wealth, being ranked as the wealthiest country in the world per capita in multiple rankings.
