Developing Teams in a Business

This document will compare the roles of the different members of the team in Aldi.

For this task I will use the team members every Aldi store/branch have. I will explain what their duties/responsibilities are and what they do.

Store Manager:

“As a store manager you are part of a busy, dynamic environment that changes every day in an Aldi store. The list of duties will be varied, ranging from ensuring high levels of customer service to reviewing security issues. Other jobs on to-do list will include:

* Reaching sales targets and increasing profits

* Dealing with customer service issues such as queries and complaints (the customer isn't always right, but most of the time they are) 

* Interviewing and recruiting new staff 

* Supervising departmental managers and organising training

* Organising rotas and holidays

* Overseeing stock control and receiving orders (get that wrong and you've got an empty shop)”

The wages Aldi pay are second highest wage any store pays in the UK, first one is Lidl. A store manager at Aldi works an average of Five days, 48 hours a week including weekends as it's often the busiest time so they need to be available in the store as any mishap can also take place. They will have their own office but practically they do not spend a lot of time in the office because they mostly spend a lot of time in shop floor. Furthermore, a store manager in Aldi is required to manage and look after the other staff members. A store manager in Aldi also undertake all the activities that more likely a HR management would, for instance, trainings, developments, managing cash and other day-to-day administrative tasks. In addition to this, a store manager also makes sure that their customers do get what they are there in the store for.
