Re: The Board of Directors of XYZ Museum needs to improve its organizational structure, clearly communicate its mission to all the stake holders and develop a strategy for the sustainability of the museum.

Recommendation and Implementation:

Short Term (0-2 months):

1. Inform all the stakeholders that the museum will be going through a major organizational restructuring process.

2. Disband or revitalize the existing board to ensure that the employees are confident of the board of directors.

3. Make the acting executive director as the permanent executive director.

4. Strategic Planning Committee should ensure that there is synergy among the employees of the organization.

Medium Term (2-4 months):

1. Management of the organization should revisit the mission statement to have a clear understanding of it.

2. The top management should conduct sessions with all the stakeholders of the museum to discuss about the mission statement.

3. Vision and high level goals should be drawn from the mission statement so that the top management can focus on building a strategy for the sustainability of the museum.

Long Term (>4 months):

1. A strategy should be formulated to fill all the gaps that presently exist in the organization.

2. Top management should focus on utilizing the building space effectively and efficiently.

3. Management should come up with ways to raise capital for the museum.

Control and Feedback:

Strategic planning committee should obtain feedback from all the stakeholders to ensure that they are happy with the leadership of the organization and that they understand the mission statement.
