INTRODUCTION

To discuss the leadership style practised at air eagle we will look at behavioural models which will focus on differences between effective and ineffective leaders. I will discuss different leadership styles using three behavioural theories.

The first of which is theory x and theory y. This theory has two different sets of assumptions that leaders hold about their employees. We will discuss whether Air Eagle falls into theory x or theory y regarding their leadership style.

The second model that I will use is the Ohio state university of Michigan. The research of this model identifies a considerate leadership style and an initiating structure leadership style. After giving evidence from the study of Air Eagle we will determine what style the organization has in terms of leadership.

The third model is the managerial grid model that identifies five leadership styles that combine concern for production and concern for people, these styles are plotted on a grid. With produced evidence I shall plot the leadership style relevant at Air Eagle.

I will also choose a motivational theory to advise Mr. Wing how he can motivate his employees to the best advantage of the organization. Evidence has shown that Mr. Wing has problems with employee attitudes, staff grievances, and absentees, and insubordination. To best solve these problems at Air Eagle I have used the job enrichment theory.
