The CSR action in the case of oil spill situation

Introduction

Recently, the company’s role in society is tend to a broader view which formerly seen as essentially. The firm extends to question of how the business is run from ethical perspective and how to have a sustainable profitable (Morrison, 2009). This essay presents three main sections. It is beginning with module overview. The second part is literature review which divided into 3 parts of theory; Sustainability and Sustainability development, corporate social responsibility and Stakeholder theory and Triple bottom line. Each theory contains its own definitions and example. The last section is the case study of Petroleum industry which link to the theory of Sustainability and business. This sector is focusing on the effect of oil spill situation to the companies’ reputations and their stakeholders, how companies manage it by using the CSR theory, how they approach to triple bottom line principle and from this situation how the firms make the sustainability business.
