Career Exploration into Policing

For the first question they can try and recruit younger adults to show them that if they work hard they can have a great career in law enforcement. They can start programs that show all the races that the U.S. Police are there to protect everyone and not just certain races. They can also use programs like the D.A.R.E program all let the kids know that their jobs that they can have on the right side of the law and to show them that doing drugs and breaking the law is not the way to go and becoming a police officer may not be for everybody but it is a great way to make a life for yourself.

The second part is the selection process which has 9 steps and the (1) written aptitude testing, (2) personal interview, (3) physical agility, (4) polygraph exam, (5) voice stress analyzer, (6) psychological evaluation, (7)drug test, (8) medical exam, (9) and a background investigation. These steps may seem like a lot but they are there to make sure that you can handle the stress of the job.

The last thing that there is, training and the many different things that are involved in the process, the first being recruit training which is field traing, then you are going to have to go through firearm training and then specialized training. Next you have training for the police corps, then community policing training, and then last you have the probationary period for about 90 day at most places.
