Video Reflection

Week 2

After watching the first video which in detailed on Classical Greek Art and Ideas that includes Greek sculptures that were just about entirely made of marble and bronze. They were brilliant sculptors when it came to human body form. Paintings were very rare, and pottery was what they did most. During the modern times, the Greeks have contributed to science and technology. They were great mathematicians and developers. Some of their more spoken about art sculptors were Diadoumenos. Some other works of art that we all know is The Discus Thrower of Myron, Colossus of Rhodes and Trojan Horse.

The second video which focused on Greek Art: Seventh of Fifth Century B.C. This was the beginning of the Archaic period of their art. The Egyptians culture influenced it. They started doing a lot of vase paintings made of pottery. It was also the time of the nude sculptures in Greece. While they were life-sized or larger, the female statues were not allowed to be only naked male. Over time, the sculptures became more realistic, and the characteristics were more human formation and of the Gods. While both were absorbing, I found the pottery more interesting to view since it was imagination behind it. This form had more of artistic skill.
