What if you could determine how long you lived? In this case, there are many activities and life styles that can increase one’s life expectancy. However, it takes a substantial amount of dedication and determination to improve one’s way of living. For this purpose, it is essential to start at a young age to acquire a healthy way of living. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is tremendously beneficial, and students should therefore be required to take physical education courses. An active routine improves physical health, mental stability, and learning skills.

Keeping students active through physical education classes improves physical health in many aspects: it prevents obesity, it reduces tiredness, and it improves sleep. Physical activity clearly helps individual’s lode weight and prevent obesity. However, in today’s western society, obesity is on the rise. A recent study concludes that “one in four adult Canadians and one in 10 children have clinical obesity” (Obesity in Canada). It is important to encourage physical activity from a young age to prevent obesity from occurring as it could lead to many difficulties. In fact, “six million Canadians living with obesity require immediate support in managing and controlling their weight” (Obesity in Canada). Furthermore, tiredness is known to reduce when individuals exercise more. Studies suggest that “people who completes a regular exercise program reported improved fatigue compared to groups that did not exercise.” (Exercise Fights Fatigue). It is evident that exercise has a very consistent effect on the reduction of fatigue. Similarly, exercise improves sleep as “people sleep significantly better and feel more alert during the day if they get at least 150 minutes of exercise a week.” (Study: Physical Activity. . .). By keeping students active, their sleeping patterns will improve. This would help students advance more in the academics. For these reasons, it is apparent that physical activity is beneficial for...
