Mozart and the Whale

Mozart and the Whale is about two individuals that fall in love. They both suffer with Asperger, a type of autism, and are trying to learn how to cope. The movie starts off with Donald driving his taxi cab in a big city. You automatically see how smart he is. The movie shows maps that he has in his head of the city, great skill for a taxi driver, while he is driving. Something happens while he is driving and he ends up crashing his taxi cab with a customer in it. He walks away from the scene and starts to cross town with a sack of groceries. He makes his way into a small building where a group of people are convened. You can tell there is something different about this group of people. They all seem to suffer from some sort of mental disability. One person is shouting out blunt statements while the other is spouting out random facts. Donald comes in and seems to be the leader of the group. They decide that in their meeting they are going to go to the park and share stories about their lives. They divide between men and women and sit on some steps outside in a park.

A newcomer comes to the group named Isabelle. Isabelle, suffers with Aspergers as well, and is advised to join a support group. Isabelle starts to tell her story about her life. Ever since she was a little girl she has taken things literally. She tells a story about when she was little her parents were watching the Olympics and a man broke a record and was received a trophy. She thought to herself if all she had to do was brake a record to get an award than that would be super easy. She got all of her parents records and took them outside and broke them in the backyard. She tells another story of being raped by a truck driver while she was hitchhiking.

Isabelle and Donald hit it off and decide that they want to date. You can tell that this couple is different from the beginning. Their first date is on Halloween and they decide to meet at the mall...
