I Believe in Doing Something That Scares You Every Day

I believe in doing something that scares you every day.The reason I believe this is because I do not feel that we should be cautious if the reward is higher than the risk; moreover, when you do something that scares you every day the little things that you used to be afraid of will become insignificant fears.For example if you Ollie (a skateboard maneuver in which the skater jumps up and the board sticks to his feet)—defying gravity going down 7 stairs one time than when you go to perform the same maneuver on a 4 stair it will be a piece of cake for you since you have previously landed a more dangerous (scary) maneuver on a significantly larger set of stairs.

The reason I decided to use “do something that scares you every day” as my mantra is the fact that ever since the 8th grade I have been doing this skateboarding thing; also, this mantra has helped me overcome fears outside of skateboarding. For example dancing—?? it sounds silly I know but for some weird reason I had that fear. But ever since I started skateboarding and being more carefree I was at a quincenera and a girl asked me to dance so I got over my fear and just did it. I was super nervous but if I would have let the fear take over I would have never had the experience of dancing with a girl as pretty as her.

I think that is what life is all about experiences and for a lot of people fear gets in there way of having those experiences.At times fear can be positive when you have a bad feeling about something and that bad thing ends up happening but at times fear can be negative when you have a bad feeling about something and nothing ends up happening and in both situations you ended up doing nothing. Life is way shorter than I thought that probably has affected my decisions in life in both a negative and positive way but in reality there both positive because in both situations you get...
