03/22/2010 My Moments With Time
If the whole concept of time didn't exist, It would be a wonderful world for me. No punching in time clocks, no scheduled classes and all my doctor's appointments would be considered walk-in visits. Oh! How sweet and convenient it could be to finally be in sync with my moments in time.
For a number of years now I've struggled with punctuality. Taking into account that I'm somewhat of a perfectionist, I grapple with understanding why I'm rarely on time for anything. Some might beg to differ, but I truly believe I suffer from an habitual lateness disorder (if there's such a thing).
Thinking back to when my problem started, and how people dealt with it, it's no wonder why I never learned a lesson from my actions. I'll take you back to a typical morning during my High School years.
Ring Ring! My alarm is goes off, it's 5:45am. I extended over the nightstand to hit the snooze button. “Five more minutes, just five more minutes,” I said as I immersed my face back into the blanket.
Faintly in the distance I hear, Chantel!, Chantel? “Yes” I replied, “Are you up?” she asked.

My mom, she never did come into my bedroom to check, she would just yell from hers. I Knew she was listening out for my movements, so I eventually got up when the clock displayed 6:00am. Spirited about the possibilities my day may hold, I was keen on getting to school on time.
I went through my usual morning rituals, brush my teeth, shower, iron my clothes, all while listening to Hot 97 Star & Buckwild show.
