Research Report

For many years I have become more and more interested in learning about the different aspects of Greek and Egyptian religion. While there are many movies, and stories that come out about these religions there is only a certain amount of what the general public knows about them. We know about the gods Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, and the different roles they had in Greek religion. We know about the kinds of leadership and sacrifices in Egyptian religion. While we know about these religions and lifestyles from different viewpoints and stories, we have yet to come to an understanding of comparing certain aspects within each religion. In this paper I will be comparing the gods, the kings and the queens of each religion to each other. I will then be comparing the different sacrifices, rituals and reasoning and meaning behind them from both religions. These comparisons will give us a better understanding of the similarities and differences of the higher powers that were worshiped along with how they were worshiped.

In Ancient Greece, the religion was polytheistic which means that they believed in many gods. In todays world, there has been many movies and stories told about these gods. It has become common to know about the gods of Greece and some of its history through the stories, movies and teachings. This polytheistic religion believes in many gods because they saw the each of the higher powers to be independent. The most common gods known to most people are Zeus, Poseidon, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, and Hermes. Of these Zeus being the most known because he is the sky father, and father of all the gods. While these are the most known there are many more gods that exist in the religion of the Greeks.
