This turnover is due to competitive compensation and benefits at other companies, failure to promote from within, harassment and discrimination. Paul has his work cut out for him; his first step is to request to hire an additional HR professional to assist him. The new HR professional must be able to assist Paul with compensation and benefits, staffing, and training and development, as well as have current knowledge of harassment and diversity laws. HR needs to recruit additional workers and managers, prior to doing this job description and qualifications need to be updated. A review of compensation and benefits packages is needed in order to stay competitive. A variety of training needs to be conducted especially diversity and harassment training. Plastec should implement an employee trainee program to offer their employees more opportunities to advance within the company. This program will help recruit and keep employees. Paul needs to focus his attention on employment laws, training, recruiting, and job descriptions in order to assist the Plastec Company with decreasing turnover and increasing production.
