Introduction

According to the statistics of year 2008, more than 80 million people in the USA (Scarborough 82), over 48 million of people in Europe and 23 million in the EU (Scarborough 4) suffer from various cardiovascular disease. Moreover, coronary disease is the dominating reason of patients’ death regarding all mortality rate. Such sad statistics takes place for already a long period of time throughout the world.

Therefore, the profession of cardiovascular technician is becoming more and more important. New methods and technologies emerge, and the demand for qualified cardiovascular specialists is rising. Experts state that the need for professionals in this field will continue to grow fast and exceed the average need for medical specialists at least until 2014 year (O.O.H. 65).

The profession of cardiovascular technologist demands not only deep medical knowledge, but also understanding of biophysical processes as well as the principles of new technical ideas and equipment.

This essay is dedicated to analysis of relationship between cardiovascular science and physics, and to exploring the role of physical knowledge in studying cardiovascular technology.

In order to define physical processes related to the work of a cardiovascular technologist, we have to outline the spectrum of problems and directions that the above-mentioned professionals have to work with. There are several main branches of cardiovascular technology. They can be divided into invasive and non-invasive cardiology; the main directions of non-invasive cardiology are echocardiography and vascular technology....
