The Cause of the Natural Disasters of the 2011 Tuscaloosa Tornado

Disasters can impact the world economy as a whole. The causes of natural disasters are many. Natural disasters can include tornados, earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, severe thunderstorms, tsunamis or seaquakes, wildfires and even extreme heat or cold. A natural disaster is a disruption in the balance of the environment. The human factor raises the cost, in both property damage and loss of life. Natural disasters can kill tens and even hundreds of thousands of people in just a few minutes. Natural disasters are particularly devastating if a city or country is unprepared for such an event.

Natural disasters can destroy entire cities and countries and cause billions of dollars worth of damage. The aftermath can result in death, destruction and decay. However, dead bodies can cause outbreaks of disease, sickness, starvation and prolonged misery. This paper will expound on one of the most recent natural disaster that occurred in a city in Alabama called Tuscaloosa on April 27, 2011.

The city of Tuscaloosa is located in West Alabama on the Black Warrior River. Tuscaloosa county population is 171,159. Tuscaloosa is mostly known for their colleges which are University of Alabama, Stillman College, and Shelton State Community College. Tuscaloosa is large in the educational and the institutional infrastructure of Alabama. Its industrial base is by the Mercedes Benz international assembly plant which was produced in 1997.

Consequently, on April 27, 2011 Tuscaloosa was hit by a massive tornado which is caused a natural disaster. The tornado storm that hit Tuscaloosa reflected physical damage to residential, commercial and industrial properties and their contents and damage to automobiles, living expenses for people displaced from their homes.
