Lately, Toyota has been in a whole lot of trouble. Over the past few years safety has been highlighted within the company. There was a time where Toyota was on top of the mid-size sedan chain but it seems to be a distant chance. Many that were once believers in Toyota are no longer Toyota owners. So, many expect that Toyota will change their way of doing business. In this case I will analyze whether or not Toyotas mission is aligned with the needs of their stakeholders.

Toyota’s primary mission is to insure their vehicles are safe. I read an article called Commitment to Quality on Toyotas website. They have gotten very serious about safety and have implemented several programs to ensure their vehicles meet and are above the safety standards. They have made a Special Committee for Global Quality. This committee was made to make sure there are no communication disconnects between the head office and the regional offices. This committee is made up from people from the head office and people from the regional offices to try to improve the quality of their products. This is a great idea because the head office is making sure everyone in the company knows exactly what’s going on. In addition to the new committee, they are making numerous changes like building more technically offices globally. They have also improved customer service by responding to customers no later than 24 hours.

The primary stakeholders for Toyota are the customers and the employees. The customers are the key to this company’s success. Up until all the incidents with the recalls happened, Toyota was on top of the food chain when it came to reliable cars that could last for years.
