Title : Obesity Problem In America.

I. Introduction

A major problem now a day is the problem of obesity. Obesity refers to the condition of having an excessive amount of body fat. Many individuals are uncertain about the increasing statistics associated with obesity. In America, the fast food companies grow fast as many busy people usually choose to eat fast food due to lack of time. Fast food contains high calories and fat which could be responsible for rising obesity. This obesity problem is contributing to the demise of health in America.

II. Body

A. One of the problem is the growth of companies and unhealthy foods popularity is proving to be the demise of America’s health.

1. America’s keep rising in obesity problem as the fast food companies grow.

a. More and more people are eating unhealthy foods more often.

i. Increasing in popularity of fast food restaurants contributes to a company growth.

ii. Lead to obesity problem.

2. The unhealthy food is becoming a trend in America.

a. The calorie intake is one tenth of the daily food intake for the average American.

i. Give health risk

ii. Corrupting America’s youths.

B. Obesity in America also consumes many teens.

1. 21% of teens are overweight in America (Frissel & Susan, 1998, p. 10)

a. This problem is due to laziness.

i. Average American teens spend 22 hours a week watching tv and playing video games (Frissel & Susan, 1998, p. 10)

2. Teenagers like to eat junkfood.

a. Junkfood contributes 57 calories of the daily diet of the average diet of teenagers.

b. Major factor of weight issues.

C. Other reasons for obesity include hereditary obesity.

1. With a higher percent of obese people the chances for creating an overweight offspring increase as well.

a. 40% of children that have one obese parents will also be obese (Frissel & Susan, 1998, p. 9)
