According to article one, the first step is realizing that we are going to have to write a synopsis.

Then, write down a one or two paragraph summary of what happened where, and to which character as we finish reading each chapter. Second step is to notify themes. Notify themes that running through your chapters as you are reading.

The third step is knowing the most important points. We are talking about only those events and motivations that moved the story forward in a major way, the most important characters. The important point is important for the readers to know the storyline.

Next is to make our synopsis unique and exiting. We must let the reader know the main character and crisis. We cannot neglect to reveal the character's emotions and motivations, especially those points that explain why a character does something.

Besides that, if the setting is exotic, inject a taste of it into the synopsis with a brief paragraph. Setting is important to let the readers know where the incident happened in the story.

Next, the synopsis must also be in acceptable length. First, we write from beginning to end, and when we have finished telling your story, then go back and edit for length.  This is important because the readers will feel boring if the synopsis is too long.

One top of that, we have to edit. Always keep in mind that the synopsis must remain interesting and supply the necessary information. If our story is dark and mysterious, our synopsis should not be warm and chatty.

Writing a good synopsis is a lot of work, but think of it this way. Not only are we creating a vital marketing tool, but we are honing our writing skills at the same time.
