“In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). "God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good" (Genesis 1:31). Every time this author hears about creation one old saying comes to mind, “Who came first, the chicken or the egg?” There has to be a beginning and faith tells this author the Bible is on the right track. We are all so different and complex to be the result of a chemical reaction. The biblical account of creation offers us sufficient reasons to understand and interpret in this way; Creation is a gift, because man appears in it. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made”. (John I:1-3).Darwin’s theory of evolution says that complex creatures evolve from more simplistic ancestors naturally over time. The Bible does not mention anything specifically relating to evolution and Darwin’s theory was a stark contradiction of the account of creation in the first chapter of Genesis. Stating clearly that there is no doubt of the Bible teachings, it is this author’s opinion that if we were indeed evolved from a common ancestor, the spiritual soul is the sole creation of God. The first chapters of Genesis introduce us to the mystery of creation, that is, the beginning of the world by the will of God, who is omnipotence and love. Consequently, every creature bears within it the sign of the original and fundamental gift. The miracles which Jesus performed during his earthly ministry demonstrate the existence of the supernatural order, which is the object of faith.
