Bemis Company Incorporated manufacturers’ products within the packaging industry. Each product is categorized into one of two groups: Flexible packaging, or Pressure sensitive materials. The flexible packaging industry often includes materials such as paper or foil, forming packaging for items such as bags, envelopes and pouches. Bemis’ flexible packaging products generate polymer film materials helping serve food throughout hospitals and other health care centers. Furthermore, Bemis’ pressure sensitive materials enable graphic and label markets the ability to assemble effective reliable designs for other businesses constructing different products, most common the soft drink industry. Overall, the packaging industry encloses and protects products for storage, distribution, sale, and use.

The convenience of individual packages is imperative throughout today’s consumers. Customers are demanding a package that is quick, easy, and safe for anyone to open, such as children or the elderly, along with the convenience and safety of engaging in other tasks when opening the package, such as driving a car or operating machinery. From a nutrition stand point, manufacturers are beginning to enforce more legible print on food products. With obesity being a common issue among many individuals of today, the nutrition labels along food packages is an important aspect in increasing better health among consumers. Recent developments throughout the packaging industry include plastic film covering for food products, a common innovation supplied by Bemis. The plastic film enhances freshness of packaged food and stabilizes the original scent of food products initially packaged.
