Business Communication Trend

In this paper four topics will be discussed describing current trends in business communication. The first topic to be discussed will be what role does business communication play in your day-to-day activities at work. The second topic to be discussed will be how does business communication help you manage your daily work activities. The third topic will be what trends have you seen in your current or previous workplaces, and the fourth will be what message types result from these trends?

Business communication plays a big role in my day-to-day activities at work. Without business communication no product could be made, shipped, stored or sold. I work for Shaw Industries and the plant that I work for produces laminate flooring and everything comes into play when creating laminate flooring such as the style, color, board size, and even the boxes that they are shipped in. Each order has differences and business communication helps everyone involved in the production process work together more efficiently.

Plant Lm the plant that I am work for now has a large contract with Lowe’s. This Lowe’s order has to be perfect. Lowe’s has communicated with the executives how they want the order, our managers got the orders produced them to our team with the same info they received from Lowe’s. If any information got misunderstood then that could lead to the loss off our business with Lowe’s.

The way business communication helps manage my daily work activities is through personal communication with others and through computer programs. The production planner decides what orders will be ran first; she then communicates her decision with the department manager and puts them together on the order queue (a program that holds each orders information) from the most urgent to the least urgent.
