Functions of Management

Management is the level of hierarchy where individuals make an attempt to motivate each other while utilizing resources to help them accomplish a certain goal that is beneficial to their organization. All managers do the same tasks no matter the company or type of business. An efficient way to accomplish set goals would be to: plan, organize, lead and control.

Planning is completely the key component to things running smoothly. It is the process of deciding which employee will handle certain functions and the roles they each will play on a day to day situation. Maintaining the functions of planning, by setting up the goal and following through with all of the functions are very important within any company. Organizing, is setting the chart for how each department is run, and the resources that are needed to achieve this. Manager’s job is to make sure they have enough man power during every shift to make sure day to day operations run effectively. This is where a manager’s role is critically reviewed. Leading is not the same as managing period. Managers are in charge of employees focusing on tasks that need to be completed within a timely manner. Employees are motivated by their supervisor to do an excellent job and raise the bar for themselves in ways that can open other doors potentially meaning raises and or promotions. Some employees view their supervisors as leaders and are expected to know how to lead and guide their employees. Lastly, Controlling, this is the productivity of the company’s performance. This is where managers keep account of the monetary assets, and certain costs necessary to keep the business running efficiently. All goals need to be met therefore all departments need to collaborate with each other. A reliable manager will share the information with his or her current employees explaining to them where they are and what their monthly production should...
