The methodological foundations of the statistics are generally sound, and reflect substantial improvement since the 2001 ROSC Data Module

The serviceability of Korean statistics is in many cases excellent, with timeliness in many areas exceeding the requirements of the SDDS, in some cases by significant margins

The accessibility of Korea’s data at the moment is somewhat problematic

International social statistics framework under development with OECD, UK and other nations

* There are no internationally accepted principles, framework or standards for social statistics

* Better Life initiative launched from OECD, however weighting of important factors change the ‘rankings’ of countries, once again there is no internationally accepted framework that is followed by nations.

Korea needs to development social statistics in order to prepare for the future international framework on social statistics
