Introduction

In this paper, I will make an effort to prove that the Native American minority is subordinated by the White community. I will also try to support that they have not received proper treatment by the White people since the start of the “New World”. Although discrimination has decreased its role in Native American lives is consistent.

The past has proven rough for many minorities in the United States. In my opinion, the Native Americans had it the worst because not only were they the victims of discrimination, but they also were forced off of their land and out of their homes. This is what happened only because they did not have the power to fight the “Whites” for a land that was already theirs.

In what follows, this paper will review the history and analyze the events that occurred in order to examine how the Native Americans were forced to reprioritize their lives in order for the Whites to inhabit a land that was not theirs.

History

The Native Americans are believed to have come to the Americas by means of the pre-historic Bering Land Bridge. However, there are many speculations which prove that this is not the only theory. Some archaeologists believe that the migration consisted of nautical tribes that moved along the coast, avoiding mountainous inland terrain and highly variable terrestrial ecosystems. Other researchers have claimed an original settlement by skilled navigators from Oceania, though these American Aborigine people are believed to be nearly nonexistent. Another theory claims that tribes from Europe crossed the Atlantic Ocean. Many native peoples do not believe the migration theory at all. The creation stories of many tribes place the people in North America from the beginning of time. Mormon tradition holds that the Native Americans represent one of the lost tribes of Israel.
