Active immunity-the immunity that results from the production of antibodies in response to an antigen.

Allergen-a substance that causes an allergic reaction

Allografts-a tissue graft from a donor of the same species as the recipient but not genetically identical

Anaphylactic shock- a severe and rapid and sometimes fatal hypersensitivity reaction to a substance

Antibodies- A blood protein produced in response to and counteracting a specific antigen.

Antigen-A toxin or other foreign substance that induces an immune response in the body, esp. the production of antibodies.

Autoimmune disease-Autoimmune disorders are conditions in which a person's immune system attacks the body's own cells, causing tissue destruction.

Complement-

Fever-A fever is any body temperature elevation over 100 °F (37.8 °C).

Immunity-the condition of being immune; the protection against infectious disease conferred either by the immune response generated by immunization or previous infection or by other nonimmunologic factors.

Interferon-A protein formed when cells are exposed to a virus. Interferon causes other noninfected cells to develop translation inhibitory protein (TIP). TIP blocks viruses from infecting new cells.

Lymph-A clear, watery, sometimes faintly yellowish fluid derived from body tissues that contains white blood cells and circulates throughout the lymphatic system, returning to the venous bloodstream through the thoracic duct. Lymph acts to remove bacteria and certain proteins from the tissues, transport fat from the small intestine, and supply mature lymphocytes to the blood.
