Historical Events in The Hispanic Culture

Dear Friend of Mine,

I’m writing you to talk to you about the history of our culture and the trials and tribulations of the Hispanic people. You may no realize how much our people have gone through in the hundreds of years that we have been around in the Americas but I’m going to inform you of these times.

Between the days of September 15th and October 15th we celebrate Hispanic Heritage month to Honor the achievements of all the Hispanic people of this world. It was in 1968 when congress decided to ask the president of the United States for a week in September including the 15th and 16th to be proclaimed as Hispanic Heritage Week. In 1988, Congress expanded this week into a 31 day celebration where all over the United States in Schools and other places would partake in activities and ceremonies to praise the Hispanic people. But times haven’t always been so great for the Hispanic heritage. Hispanics are considered to be the biggest minority in all of the United States. What people don’t realize is that when the first colony’s were being built at Plymouth there were already Spanish towns being established and growing in Florida. When you look at people in the military they and who was all awarded the congressional medal of honor, it was someone of Hispanic background who it was given to 43 times. These are all things that people tend to look over and don’t want to pay attention to. They just look right over all the facts like this. Just last year we had the major law in Arizona passed that would point out and deport all immigrants that have came from Mexico illegally. Now with this I’m not saying that it is ok to come over in an illegal fashion but the reason that it was pointed out and enforced so intensely was because people of other nationalities were getting upset because the Hispanic people were known for doing all the work that no one else wanted to do and...
