Hurtful Words Can Lead To an Abusive Relationship

Sometimes words can kill someone’s confidence through physical and emotional abuse. The photo in a Seventeen magazine taken by Bill Hayward shows Sara, an average 17 teenage girl her tearing the backdrop to words said by her ex-boyfriend who verbally abused her. At such a young age, you can see the fearless expression of Sara who is determined to move on with her life. Although the unexpected happened, she is about to do the right thing by getting help before it’s too late. Sam, Sara’s ex-boyfriend who is a year older than Sara had been together for about a year according to the Journalist, Melanie Abrahams. Sara’s inspiriting story of her abusive relationship was covered by Melanie Abrahams. After Sara overcomes her abusive relationship she wanted, “to help other girls who are being hurt to see that physical and emotional abuses are not okay”.

Sam, Sara’s ex-boyfriend would call her a “slut or whore” whenever he sees her with some other guy. This shows how easily jealous Sam really is. Sam would also physical abuse Sara by grabbing her breasts really hard or bruise her arm. These violent actions are just going to get worse if Sara does nothing about it. Although she cried and begged him to stop, after hearing him say, “You are my angel. I’d die for you,” it made her feel special. That led to her being able to bear the pain she was in and kept the relationship going. Sam would also say other words that will bring Sara’s confidence down, like “stupid, bitch, psycho”. According to the photo shown, this shows how determined she is to move on with her life without him bringing her confidence level down. When it got to the point where Sam called Sara, “the anti-Christ,” Sara had had it with him and ended up punching Sam. That led to her running to the principal office asking for help.
