Additional information concerning Fitness First’ SWOT Analysis.

1. ‘Fitness First’ has 540 clubs worldwide in 21 countries and the United Kingdom alone has 160 centers with over 405,000 members. With obtaining the title of the largest owned fitness club in the world, there is no doubt that there will be confidence in new members when they observe this gym as a reliable and trustworthy gym with the best facilities it can offer.

2. With the switch in management of ‘Living Well Lady’ and ‘Healthland’, ‘Fitness First’ has managed to increase their gym locations to 93 centers.

3. The ‘International Fitness Week’ is a worldwide campaign which encourages unmotivated or discouraged people to take the initiative to gain knowledge on what fitness regime works for them and to overall have a healthy lifestyle in the long run.

4. The Fitness First New You Achievement Award was created to reward and recognize loyal, enthusiastic, courageous and strong willed people who made the extra mile in the path to a more healthier living.

5. ‘Lose Big Program’ was created by Fitness First for the television program ‘Biggest Loser Asia’ the gym being the main sponsor and the people responsible to hire head trainers for the show.

6. In 2004, compared to other gym ‘Fitness First’ clients were less adequate in the use of gym equipment, appropriate exercise procedures and health assessments because of neglecting staff members at the center.

There was a case between ‘Fitness First’ and ex-gym member which in her condition could not attend her gym classes and requested a cancelation fee which was denied and the court ruled in the gyms favor even when the lady had explained her condition but was hassled by Fitness First to sign the agreement.

8. A research was conducted on ‘Fitness First’ and it resulted in the discovery where the gym had highly aggressive psychological techniques to get customers to sign complicated contracts and disclosing sensitive information to the customers...
