Diary Entry on Maid

Tuesday 10/5/11

Dear diary,

Today was my first day at my new job. When I entered the house, I noticed that they were a rich family. The father of the family welcomed me, his name was Jorge. He didn’t seemed like the typical prototype of a rich man that didn’t cared for nobody, que looked like a very good man. He showed me the entire house, we spent half an hour seeing it all. It was gigantic!

My work as a housemaid at Cordero’s house starts on Sundays at 10 p.m. and finishes on Fridays at 9 p.m. I sleep every day of the week at their house, because they pay me more for staying to sleep.

Wednesday 23/8/11

Dear diary,

Three months had allready passed since I started working at Cordero’s house.

Appart from travelling to the house every day, I like so much my job, that I wouldn’t change it for any other. The two kids, Felipe and Julia, are amazing. Every day when they come back from school, they salute me very kindly as if I were part of the family. Everything that they ask me to do, the always say please and thank you, they are very educated. They always leave every thing very tidy. I barely see the kid, Felipe, because as he is a teenager he is always locked up in his bedroom listening music at a very high volume, and using the computer approximately 4 hours a day. The girl, Julia, she is 9 years old. She is very nice with me, we always color her coloring books, we listen music which I love. As well we play with her Barbies and other dolls. Every night I have to stay with Julia until she falls asleep

Tomorrow the kids will go the their father’s house becuase the parents are divorced. The kids are almost every day in the house were I work, with their mother, except on Wednesdays. Wednesdays are the days wich I can rest from the kids, that although they are very good kids, they are very tiring.
