What I learned in the Pearson’s Activities on Analyzing Internet Sources is that a Library is specifically designed for research and has targeted, efficient assistance, whereas the Internet is not specifically designed for research, and is on open source, which can actually hinder what you are trying to research. Although the Internet is fast and convenient, resources may not be 100% reliable. To research on the Internet, you need to develop strong literacy skills. The Internet has a lot of information, and many of it may not be correct. When conducting research, once the inquires appear, it is important to evaluate the URL and synopsis of each site that comes up so you know that you are going to be conducting research on the best site possible, and to not waste time on sites that are irrelevant to your research, such as blogs, and political sites, where the information there would be strictly someone’s opinion and not factual.

What I did not learn in the Pearson’s Activities on Analyzing Internet Sources is what the best search engine would be to conduct research on, so that I know what inquiries come up would be the most valuable information for my research. I also did not learn if the Internet is even the best way to conduct research at all, since there is so much misinformation out there. Taking classes online saves a person gas, or time with family, but maybe conducting research online isn’t the proper route to take, and actually going to the library to do research will end up with a better outcome.
