The statement, “going down a hypothetical path where abortion is ethical and just, despite knowing it isn’t,” by the author Richard x. Thripp is not agreeable because women should have the right to choose what they do with their bodies and whether the option of abortion is right for them or not under certain unfortunate decisions. Women should not use abortion as a form of contraception as the Plan B pill allows them to do but if the woman knows that the baby will not live a healthy and productive life, in the professional opinion of a physician, than that is an option that should be open for discussion. There are many times when there may be extreme measures that will only hurt the well-being of the child if it is born and abortion may be the only option available. In the cases of unwanted pregnancies simply because it is not the right timing or a woman believes that she is not financially or emotionally prepared for a child there are different avenues that can be discussed other than abortion such as an adoption process. Unfortunately, because abortion is not yet illegal this is an issue that woman can consider as a possible option.

“The unborn young from the end of the eighth week after conception to the moment of birth” is stated by the author as the definition of a fetus. It seems that the author’s own views are contradicted because his definition seems if though he condones abortions done prior to the eighth week of pregnancy. It seems that this statement can be construed as a deductive argument because it is not only invalid but also that there is logical error created within the statement....
