In order to evaluate trends in organizational behavior that is related to high-performance workplaces and stress management techniques, we must understand the different stages of conflict.

Conflict can come in many forms and develop in stages. Any unresolved previous conflicts can contribute to future problems that are related. Instead of ignoring the problem, the problem should be addressed head on.

“Stages of Conflict

• Antecedent Conditions – Set the conditions for conflict

• Perceived Conflict – Substantive or emotional differences are sensed

• Felt Conflict – Tension creates motivation to act.

• Manifest Conflict – Conflict resolution or suppression/Conflict aftermath” (Hunt, Osborn, and Schermerhorn, Jr. p. 130)

Trends in organizational behavior have an impact on employees. During the last decade it has been seen that the rapid acceleration of change in technologies and employee within the workplace have to adjust continually to new and changing situations leading to many problems, which also include stress.

The manager of today is challenged to meld the demands of the organization and the needs of the individual worker into a functioning whole. Education in today’s work environment will be successful if organizations formulate different activities which can be educational and adapt to new technologies that will help complement organizational interaction. Drive and resilience are especially important when someone sets out to do something no one else has done or when that person faces setbacks and failures.
